It’s quite funny that these cellular companies invest so heavily in advertisements but fail to concentrate on minor details. Take the case of Idea cellular’s TV Commercial (TVC) featuring a monkey (may be a Langur, but I didn’t saw a long tail….I just know that they are not the same ones found near Stephens). The cell phone in use there is N 72, but the ringtone is monophonic & not polyphonic. Secondly, the monkey goes to a stadium, a park & all open places within the city limits where obviously signal would come. Or No!! Thinking of past reputation I think the presence of signal is a miracle (even if it is in the ad).
The ad is in response to the Airtel’s TVC where 3 girls are in

yup that pug in hutch ws damn cute!
Yeah, the first time I saw that ad, I thought it was nice but come to think of it, it doesn't make much sense. Hutch definitely comes up with the best ads.
Nice blog man! Now all you have to do is be regular. :)
Hmmm......I'll heed your advice surely, as it is coming from the only writer amongst us!!
Ah a new blogger in our midst!! Welcome welcome!!
Be regular as Jay says.
Nice start! Sunnomuch about these ads as I'm deprived of TV these days.. :(
Anyway.. Keep writing!

the ad is a very impulsive response to the well presented airtel ad where 3 gals r camping in leh....it wud have been better had they put some more time n had come up with something creative and interesting rather than a boring copy.....
Tyagi strikes again.....nice observation...very critical analysis...hope u put up more observations in da near future.......
i have actually not seen that add...since we r deprived of indian adverts in UK...but nwaz good observation snow man!tc.
@ Remiya (appearing Anonymous): Before scrapping you the address of this blog, I did thought for a moment that what use this blog will make to you in UK. But anyways, I scrapped you the link.
Sorry in advance because even the next post is going to be India specific! But, i think you'll like it.
I know, I wondered about that too! All the places they show are open spaces and pretty accessible ones at that (like the stadium). Why the hell would getting your network coverage there BE such a big deal?! Then I reasoned - it's Idea after all. Such sucky coverage. So before they can come up with promos proclaiming coverage of remote areas (like in the Airtel ad), first they have to assure people that Idea subscribers will have network coverage even in regular places, something that other cell networks take for granted. Hah!
But didn't notice the phone model thing - killer observation, that!!
I remember the phone model because i was really irritated on hearing that monophonic tune.
in case one is talking about noticing minute things, i too have an observation. though miniscule,it is a valid one. notice the table when the langur places the mobile after the much-received trauma of reception of network "wherever you go". notice, again, the table when the man receives the call..."hey!wassup?" notice a difference?well,i did.on the previous occasion, there was a pair of spectacles on the table,on the latter,it very conveniently vanishes!talking about details, the ad-maker must have kept such things in mind!this is not the only ad though that misses an object in consecutive scenes!
